EnThe essay aims to show in parallel the stories of Pietro Perugino and Leonardo: both, in their youth, co-workers of Andrea del Verrocchio, they meet in Florence in 1501. There, Pietro is the most successful and required painter, but the works done by Leonardo during his second Florentine stay open the high renaissance style, and give Perugino to an era that ends suddenly and from which the latter has not the strength to free himself.
